Equipment Instructor

The Equipment Trainer will be responsible for training employees and customer on equipment safety. Reporting to the Training Safety Manager, the trainer occasionally travels to other branches or customer sites within BC to provide safety training support.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and lead equipment operator safety training programs
- Train customers in safe and proper methods of forklift and compact equipment operations
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 5+ years’ of equipment operating experience on various types of equipment (material handling, compact construction, aerial, etc.).
- Strong oral (public-speaking) and written communication skills
- Strong listening skills
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Willing to travel to jobsites to deliver safety training and evaluate equipment operators’ performance
- Team player with self-confidence and professional appearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- BCDL with clean abstract
- Training certifications on equipment operations
- WHMIS and TDG
- Logistics, warehousing or construction industry experience
- Experience in administering and leading training programs (Operator Safety Training and Train the trainer certifications can be provided for the right applicant)
Compensation package:
- 3 weeks vacation
- Wage between $27-$30 depending on experience and qualifications.

Working Conditions: The Equipment Safety trainer is based out of the Surrey office and works 40 hours per week on average, Monday to Friday. Some BC based travel will be required.
